Date: 1/25/12 5:27 PM  At Christmas, I was surprised to see my mother wear pants to church. She said she'd given up on skirts because she can't find them in the length she likes (above her ankles, but below her knees.) Eager to use my new sewing machine, I volunteered to make her some.
She seemed hesitant to have me measure her, so I told her I'd just make her a 22W (her rtw size) and she could email me her length. I don't know why I thought plus size patterns followed the rtw sizing.
Anyway, after I bought the patterns (Simplicity 2195 and Simplicity 2232) I got suspicious and asked for her waist measurement. Sure enough, she does not wear a 22W...or even a 28W.
I really want to do this for her. Can anyone help me modify these patterns based on a 48" waist? ------ Striving to be the Proverbs 31 Wife |
