Date: 1/29/12 4:54 PM I just started with a tissue fitting after doing an FBA on the D cup version of this vest- I'm more than a D so I thought it would be a good idea. I had to take some of the tissue out after doing too large of an FBA.
Does this look right? I don't know if I'm missing something. This is my first vest and I'm going to be making it out of some nice quality fabric, so I'd love to get it right. Thanks.
Front
side view tissue fitting: I didn't hold it against my body but I do believe the front hits at my center

Date: 1/29/12 7:50 PM It looks like you did a nice job on the FBA. Is the CF going straight up &down at the middle of your body? And it's hard to tell, but do you also need a forward shoulder adjustment?
For me, this would be the point where I make a muslin. There's only so much you can do at the tissue stage! ------ A balanced diet is a cupcake in each hand. |

Date: 1/29/12 7:58 PM The center front is funny because it's a double breasted button thingy, like this one that Tasia made

I always have to fiddle a lot with my FBAs but I've got a good rhythm now.
I think I might need a shoulder adjustment. I'll look up the one you mentioned. I've never done any shoulder adjustments before. I've had to focus so much of the learning curve on the FBA.
thanks! Muslin is next. |

Date: 1/29/12 9:57 PM The back neck is sticking out. I would take out the fold you put across the back. It also makes the shoulder sit too far back. |

Date: 1/29/12 10:36 PM It looks like your cf is not perpendicular with the side swinging out to the side. Is your side seam perpendicular and dissecting your ? The shoulder seam is not at the top of your shoulder, but I can't tell if it's a forward shoulder or if the whole seam needs to come forward. Regardless that this is a double breasted vest, the cf has to be at your center front and not be swinging out to the side. ------ www.nancyksews.blogspot.com |

Date: 1/30/12 9:01 AM Lookin' good! I agree with Sewme, make the muslin. That way you will be able to pin the front together and get a better look at how the side seams, center front and shoulders are doing. |
