Excellent Book for Simple alterations Great for fitting problems

There are a heck of a lot of books out there that give instruction on how to adjust or modify a sewing pattern to make a garment fit your shape just right. I thought I'd share with you a book I purchased recently that I find very helpful. It is called: 'How to Use, Adapt and Design Sewing Patterns.' By Lee HOLLAHAN. The book explains in simple language and lots of step-by-step photos how to adjust basic patterns to fit you better. Examples of some of the areas it covers: Dart Manipulation Simple bodice alterations Simple sleeve alterations Simple skirt alterations Simple dress alterations Simple trouser alterations The adjustments are all basic but are things that we use in our every-day sewing. I have it and while I think it is a good book, it is definitely geared toward the beginner. If you have been sewing for any length of time, you will find your skills extend past what this book covers. At any rate, you should write a review and post it in the book reviews section. ------ "framed" was taken
