Subject: Jacket class Date: 2/14/12 6:26 PM

Hi Angela,

I am going to take this class - so excited! I was wondering - since my muslin from Classic French jacket is pretty much done, although I have not made it yet, should I pick out another style jacket? That was princess seams, no collar. do you think I could try a collar and lapel, or just a simple collar for my next jacket?? Will you be offering pattern suggestions?

Thanks so much - I guess you are stuck with me again!!

Thanks so much - Deb

Hi Deb,
Definitely work on a new muslin, then you will have 2 great jackets. Try one with a collar - I just saw your post on the board and the Nancy Erickson pattern would be perfect. Very fitted, so this will be a good one for this class.
Thanks so much for joining me again :)

I was wondering if the videos are downloadable, meaning I can download to my computer and play in the future, just like using other course materials?

Thanks!

Hi Meredith,
The videos are not downloadable, although they will be available to you on the class board forever for you to see. It seems this has been a preference to many so then you don't fill up your memory on your own computer.
Hope you join us :)

The class starts on March 1st and remains open for the entire month. There will not be live chats but a very active board that can accessed at all times.

The class will have lessons and video and everyone is allowed to post pictures of their muslins for personal fitting advice. This also gives everyone a chance to learn from each other's photo's.

Let me know if you have any other questions - hope you join us :)

Hi Angela,

I would be interested as I would like to learn as much as I can in as short a time as possible. Unfortunately, being unemployed at the moment has left funds too tight. At least until the tax refund arrives. Hopefully you will offer it again soon.

Subject: Jacket? I'm still working on pants! Date: 4/6/12 10:20 AM

Hi Angela,

Do you prefer we do a women's jacket? I'm needing to make myself a suit. Would a men's suit jacket do? Robin has two jackets in the closet and indicates that she doesn't need another. The only suit I own is my old army dress greens. Also, the preview does not really cover the video mentioned. Can you give me an idea of what it covers? Right now, just not in a position to spend much more than the cost of the class.

BTW - I've completed the rayon top for Robin, GRRRRR! I'm working on a seersucker dress for her now. Forgot to get the zipper on the first trip. Robin seems to be more interested in tops and dresses than jeans and pants. That's what I get for altering her thrift store buys first. The new machine works great!

Off topic, I'd like to ask your advice on where to start learning to make formal wear. Yeah, I'm wanting to make tuxes, wedding dresses, and prom dresses. I've seen a few patterns that I'm interested in. Both men's and women's. Any good books that you would recommend?

Thanks,
Mike Schoppe
