Hello,

I have a bmp6 but did not get the hat hoop with it. My son bought a baseball cap on it and would like me to embroider something on it. Just above the lid but to the side. Is it possible without a hat hoop? I also have a designer se and did see that they sell an inexpensive hat hoop but I don't know if it will embroider the field I am hoping to do. Thank you for your help!

Denise

You could try pinning it down onto stabilizer in a much larger hoop, then stitching only on the hat. Because of where he wants it though, a hat hoop would probably work best. Check local companies to see if it would be cheapest and easiest to have this done for you. I work for a local sporting goods company that does custom embroidery (not just for sports) and we have a hat hoop there. They'd charge maybe $10 to do it.

You can do this without a hoop.

Here is a tutorial from Husqvarna using sticky back stabilizer and a regular hoop.

Even the pros have issues with the center seam.
