Hello!
I'm new here on PR, so please let me know if I should move this post elsewhere.

Before my daughter was born I made a ton of cloth diapers, but we never used them. Now I have a ton of fabric used for making cloth diapers that I'm trying to use up.

Does anyone have suggestions for what to do with birdseye fabric? It's a 100% cotton pique, I believe. It's sort of stretchy w/ the look of muslin, except it's got a diamond shaped weave to it. It's a popular fabric for cloth diapers, but since I no longer need cloth diapers, I'd like to find some other use for it.

I'd like to use if for a lining for a cotton dress for my daughter, but I'm thinking it might be too heavy.

If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them.
Thanks!
Carrie

Household cleaning cloths.
Cleaning size can be kept in the car to dry rain or snow splatters.
Face cloths that are easy to manage; many of the terry cloths are too thick.
Produce bags; or, just a flat cloth to wrap produce in.

Should sew up into wonderful sleeveless summer shirts.
Night dress.

Google 'gauze dresses' and you'll be in for a surprise.

Believe it or not, I used it to make a beautiful textured bodice for the Renaissance fair!

I think you could really use it for a lot of applications. It's not a tightly woven fabric, but it takes lining/underlining/interfacing well. The biggest challenge, I think, is the width. The stuff I had was *very* narrow--I want to say it was only around 24" wide, but it might have been closer to 36". Anyway, that can make pattern layout tricky, particularly adult garments.

The suggestion for a sundress is a good one! It's white, but it's *VERY* washable!

Like stirwatersblue, I use it for a very specialized application: shirt front and cuffs for ballroom dance shirts. But it is a very versatile fabric and would be wonderful just as dish towels or as a summer dress.

Thanks to all! I hadn't even thought of using it for cleaning cloths, but we can always use those. I like the idea of a summer dress too.

Thanks again!
