Date: 2/21/12 2:33 AM Can anyone tell me what to do, the machine has a low bobbin indicator that comes on about every 4 inches that I sew. If I shut the indicator function down it works fine , until i turn it back on then it stops the machine. I would like to keep it on because its a nice feature to have. I have threaded and rethreaded the bobbin dozens of times this is not my first bernia so I know the bobbin system. thanks I appreciate any feedback |

Date: 2/21/12 4:59 AM I haven't had this issue so this is purely a guess. Maybe try cleaning the bobbin area and under the feed dogs of any and all lint. Otherwise the girls over on the Yahoo group for the 5 series machine are very knowledgeable.

Date: 2/22/12 1:34 PM OH ($^*(%^%$^&^(^(^*%&$$) explicables a many!!! I cannot believe Bernina has not fixed this issue. My 730 is supposed to have this function but it does not work...my old 1630 works perfectly...when the bobbin gets to the last bit it warns me. Lovely. I am most disappointed the 5 series still has issues. ------ "The problem is not that there are problems. The problem is expecting otherwise and thinking that having problems is a problem." Date: 2/22/12 1:48 PM What Sew4Fun said. In addition, make sure the little sensor/glass eye thing is clean of lint, too.
Also, make sure the little door to the bobbin area is closed. Your description sounds exactly like what my Artista 730 does when I forget to close that door. My old 1130 has no sensor, and I sewed for years without ever closing it. I have to remember to close it on my 730E. The symptoms you described are my red flag reminder.... duh! on me. |

Date: 5/30/12 0:57 AM I have the same problem I was embroidering and it was stoping every 30-60 seconds. Bobbin was half way full. I didn't want to refill the bobbin since there was more then enough thread for the little butterflies I was embroidering.
Is there any way to fix this problem ? My machine is cleaned before every project and the door is closed. I don't want to waist bobbin thread, or shut the indicator.

Date: 5/30/12 3:16 AM Did you put the bobbin in the right direction?
I often place the bobbin with the thread coming off the wrong way and this happens to me. If I take out the bobbin case and turn the bobbin in the other direction it doesn't do it anymore. Perhaps it's my machine. |

Date: 5/30/12 6:30 AM I was surprised that there have already been updates to the 5 series. Check the latest update version online and see if that's what your machine has. Usually the owner can do their own updates, but your dealer can help, too. ------ 🌸 Plenty of machines, mostly Berninas 🌸 |

Date: 5/30/12 11:05 AM Can you please show where to look for the updates ?
I emailed yesterday to my dealer. She asked me to bring machine in.
I hope it is possible to fix. ------ I'm sorry for my poor grammar. English is not my first language.

Date: 5/30/12 11:14 AM The updates are on the Bernina website, under "firmware" or some such. If it were me, I'd get the dealer's help, if the drive isn't to burdensome. Not sure if the 580 has had updates, but Portland Maine found out that the 530 and 550 have.
I still haven't done my 820's update, out of fear my "good baby" will become a fussy one. ------ 🌸 Plenty of machines, mostly Berninas 🌸 |
