I am making Simplicity 5813 - the boy's romper - I'm totally not getting the back placket.. I've tried a couple of times.. cut the seam.. ripped it out.. it is silk.. I'm *this* close to thowing it out and taking the day off work tomorrow to go shopping for a boy's baptism outfit (hate the off-the-rack store-bought ones).
I will see if I can figure out how to post a picture.. but.. the problem is that it seems like the trouble is at the bottom edge where the placket starts.. I had joined the centre back with a french seam up to that point, and now this just isn't working, and even if it was working, it seems like it's going to be awfully unfinished when I'm finished?
Any good placket instructions anywhere? I have had a look on the net.. nothing seems relevant. I did find one blog.. about the same pattern.. seems really odd.. there must be a better way..

Thank you Sewshable1, this placket instruction wasn't a continuous one, but your link has given me the energy to try to do it differently.. thank you! I couldn't get onto the 2nd link.. but the first one seems to be a wonderful resource!!
Wish me luck that I haven't ruined this thing already too much to salvage it!
