As many of you may remember I had significant trouble with my new Janome 7700. It jammed so badly that it damaged my bobbin case. It went back to the dealers and I was so upset as I had just gone through months of trouble with a new Pfaff I had purchased (Pfaff came through and gave me a new one but I opted to go with Janome)
Great dealer BTW.
The machine is back, the bobbin case, and housing was completely replaced, the machine was timed.
I think the problem may have been the housing or something was not tight as it should have been.
But now it is. It is sewing beautifully. It is quieter and smoother, even the the thread cutter is quieter. I am so pleased.
I tested fmq. on it and it is doing a very good job. I think I will order the blue dot bobbin case and see if I can get a slightly better back side stitch. It looks a little flat. I like to keep my tension on auto if at all possible.
I experimented with needles, type and size, and all looks good while FM sewing.
Also tested buttonholes, satin, deco stitches sewing over thick to thin and all seems great.
Im so happy.
I love this machine again!

I am glad to hear it so often you hear of the problems but don't hear much after its working again. I want to upgrade to the 7700 and I am really hoping it works out all its issues befoe I get one.

Whew... I was holding my breath... I am sooooo happy this came to a positive resolution.

I have the blue bobbin case but really it is not necessary... you can probably buy a second regular case and loosen the tension on it slightly for less money. That is essentially what the blue case is anyway. But if you don't want to fiddle then the blue bobbin case works like a charm. I am happy I have it.

I'm happy for you too, Nancy. Enjoy the machine and post about how it sews when you have time.

I am a Quilter at heart. I love to play with fabrics, patterns and colors. Recently I have discovered I enjoy doing applique. I love making pictures. Using a sewing machine is much easier than counted cross stitch or oil painting for me. I enjoy landscape quilting as well. I am working on my first applique project in the spring of 2014.
