Date: 3/16/12 7:52 PM I wanted to add my recommendation to this section for this pattern. It has worked for a wide range of people, and I think it is great for petites!
This is the first dress I haven't had to add any length too. It also has a short torso, so I didn't have to shorten the proportions. The only thing I'll do next time is trace a slightly smaller neckline, but I think the gathering works well.

Date: 3/17/12 6:26 AM Cute dress! With those type of necklines I always have to go to a size 10 otherwise they slip off my shoulders. I think when you're short like me (I'm 5 feet) that a dress like that requires a belt for some shaping otherwise I look like I'm wearing a feed sack! Can you imagine how short that would be on someone who's 5'8! |

Date: 3/17/12 9:05 AM I'm 5 ft also. Which is shorter than the range vogue calls petite. I can't imagine the length this is intended to be, but I wanted to recommend it to the other shorties.
I am going to take a bit more elastic out of the neckline to snug it up...and yes, a belt is definetly required. |

Date: 3/17/12 10:07 AM I am making 4 bridesmaid dresses from this pattern for DD's wedding. Made from a beautiful blue matte jersey from Gorgeous Fabrics, these dresses will truly be wearable after the wedding. ------ A balanced diet is a cupcake in each hand. |

Date: 3/17/12 10:08 AM I will second this pattern for petites. I am wearing mine right now! Very comfortable and not too low at the front. I did add some length to both the bodice and the skirt but not too much. Usually I have to chop heaps off the length!
I would also add V1245 as a good pattern for petites.

Date: 3/17/12 1:03 PM Funny Joann's just had their Vogues for $3.99 so I bought that pattern two days ago for View A. I'm not so sure about the other view though. |

Date: 3/17/12 3:11 PM I bought this pattern at the last Joann's sale, but made it last Wednesday. My daughter was having her Match Day ritual for medical school, and I needed a new easy travel dress. I have pics and will review it, although in my version, the print doesn't show much detail. It turned out great. I am short, 5'2"and a4DD, and I love it. I too added length to the skirt and the bodice, and cut some out of the neckline elastic. I love it. My daughter loved it, and said she wouldn't mind one. Great pattern. I like your fabric, mine is rather nondescript. I will post a review, as my husband took a pic. |

Date: 3/18/12 10:56 AM Yes, agreed...I think there is too much material in View B (V1245) for a petite. ------ Jenny, Perth, WA |
