The Leap Year Sale is ending on Monday and I finally came to the decision that the 820 was for me. I was at my Bernina dealer for a couple of hours last night and had to get ready for work immediately after. I had a terrible time sleeping because I was so excited! I am up now and digging through the manual and accessories. As I look through the box I am confident I made the right choice and I feel good about the price and the dealer I bought from. Luckily the Masters Class is starting on Tuesday, but I will be playing with it as tomorrow is my day off.
Funny side note, I was planning on paying by writing a check as I had arranged my funds to do so. My dealer did not accept them and I was having a problem with my debit card. I ended up going to the bank as there was one close and withdrew the amount in cash, uncomfortable but do-able. Well the funny part was the young male teller who asked me if I was making purchase and what it was. Maybe he was too nosy but I was so excited I didn't care and told him. He was SO confused and shocked!! He could not get over the price of the machine and asked me if I was going to be on Project Runway!
Anyway here are the accessories I purchased with the machine, I got a really good deal on them by buying them at the same time. Edge Stitch Foot 10D, Straight Stitch Foot 13, Straight Stitch Plate, 10 extra bobbins, a pack of needles, 4 big spools of thread, and the big one an 8 Series travel suitcase.

I think its strange the teller knew about Project Runway.

Thats one way I get around buying so many machines.. My DH always says go ahead and buy it.. not realizing of course how much they cost now.. I figure what he doesn't know.. well.. why give him a headache now.

Congrats on your machine.. I am glad you got the case.. you may find you need it from time to time.. especially if you are hauling it to classes.

I'm excited for you, I've drooled over that machine too! When my Pfaff completely dies I will go for it. Keep us posted, it is such a huge investment but what a beauty!

Thank you! Maia the retail price on the case is 389 (yikes), I paid 291.75 plus tax. They had to order it from Bernina but said it would be in on thursday. I got to see one though and they are VERY nice, custom fit for the 8 Series so they are snug and on wheels.

Thank you everyone, it's so nice to have people to talk about this stuff with! I'm so excited! I will be sure to do a thorough review after I have sewn on it a while.
This is my first purchased Bernina. However the sewing machine I learned to sew on as a child was my Mother's Bernina (I think it is the original 830, in the red case). Wonderful machine, she still has it

Nothing as fun as bringing home a new machine baby especially such a nice one. I always felt going to the classes and taking some at the bernina place years back really were an asset to my sewing progress. I learned there were feet to do things I didn't even know I needed to be able to do and loved every minute of it. Congratulations.
