Although the pattern line drawing does show a wide legged style, these are absolutely balloon like at the hem! I'm happy with the fit in all other respects, but cannot figure out how they came out so wide at the bottom. My question is can I narrow them below the knee without taking them apart? Can I just take out some of the excess at the side seams and leave the inseam untouched? These are my first pair of adult pants and I was so fixated on getting the waist and hips right that I must have goofed elsewhere. Any help appreciated!

Threads version

Here's a link from Threads on how to narrow the legs on pants.

Thanks, Halley! I looked at that at first and then decided it didn't apply since the fit otherwise is OK. But now that I've scrolled to the bottom and read the whole thing, I see some suggestions that might help. Always a good idea to read to the end. When in doubt, read the instructions!
