Date: 4/2/12 2:53 PM We had a wonderful weekend Dh and I worked together on a new deck. It will double the size of our old deck making the whole thing 14' X 40' with half of it covered. (all we have is a covered deck now.

They are a fairly easy build and are so fabulous to sit on. We really enjoy ours ... in fact we liked our first deck so much we built another one down by our pond and put a cover over that one. Now you just need to dig you a pond..

I asked her is any of that weather was close buy. She said it wasn't. Date: 4/5/12 3:18 PM Its too late I already have a pond LOL!!! it is not visible from our house even in the winter because of all the trees and it is uphill a bit from our house. One of the future projects is a walkway up to the pond and a little deck built over it. There are a lot of cedar trees surrounding our pond now and DH wants to cut a bunch of them down, I am hoping we can use them for posts. He says each cedar tree sucks up 50 gallons of water a day and our pond will be much deeper if we cut them down.

Date: 4/5/12 3:20 PM I'm using the presence of the April Sunshine thread to avoid grumbling about things that aren't worth grumbling about. Thank you! And what's to grumble about anyway, when I'm here safe and sound and see the devastation the weather brought, with the miracle (I hope this is still true, I haven't turned on the news today) of not one life lost when so many storms in the DFW area were literally bringing homes down around people. I'm getting chills again thinking about the grandmother that had 4 children in her care that day. She had three tucked away safely and had to fight with the wind (inside her home) to keep the youngest, her grandson in her arms. A portion of wall around the tub was all that was left standing from her home. I believe in miracles, everyday, when they are obvious and when they are not. Who knows, maybe I'll even eat some Easter candy at it won't show up on the scale. All I know is that Easter is my favorite holiday and after what has happened this week, this will most likely be the most memorable Easter ever. ------ I have no idea what Apple thought I was saying so be a Peach and credit anything bizarre to auto correct.
