Date: 4/6/12 3:27 PM Hi all,
I need current reviews. The reviews I see in the fabric store reveiws are from 2006 thru 2009. I was hoping for something in 2011/2012. The LA garmet district is hugh and just need some guidance I am going in May 2012. Thanks all. ------ We can do it! |

Date: 4/6/12 5:10 PM Check out this discussion thread for more up-to-date info. I shopped the garment district about a month ago and got some really great fabric at the Michael's Levine's loft. You have to work for it with those bins. I wasn't as happy with my purchase from the regular Michael Levine's. Target trims was fantastic. They have rows and rows and rows of trims. There's sooo many shops you just have to explore. A lot of them are small so you can pop in and out in not that much time. |

Date: 4/6/12 6:31 PM Don't be limited by reviews. Just go shopping into any store that looks interesting. They are all in one spot, so If you don't like one, you will like the next one. ------ Visit my blog at http://sewingsaga.blogspot.com

Date: 4/6/12 9:27 PM I'll second Sherril Miller, there are so so many stores, but they are all right by each other so if you have a couple of hours , just browse around, and see what everyone has. Michael Levines is the most like a normal store, but it's not the cheapest. If you bring cash, you can haggle in the smalle stores. ------ BrownPaperPattern.blogspot.com |

Date: 4/7/12 1:27 PM Okay Sherrill and Betsy,l let's plan an excursion (guided tour ?)! I too have been hesitant to take on the LA District alone the first time. Have done NYC District alone but felt more in control without a car to worry about. I am in San Diego. Sherrill, I will visit your blog and leave a message. I for one will definately take you up on your kind offer. Thanks!!!! Bonnie |

Date: 4/8/12 0:10 AM Bonnie, I live in Pomona right off the 10 FWY, which can be right on the way to LA from your house. Stop by, pick me up or I can drive. Betsy can come to my house too and we can go have a grand day of it. When were you thinking about coming? ------ Visit my blog at http://sewingsaga.blogspot.com

Date: 4/8/12 0:27 AM Maybe I could meet up with you all?
I am 10 minutes away from the Garment District...its fun to go with others, as I usually make a super fast trip into only ML's these days. ------ Raye Ann
