Date: 4/8/12 2:17 PM Don’t get me wrong, I completely absolutely love my Bernina 830, challenging as it is and in many ways because it’s challenging. But in the spirit of my perfectionist’s mantra (Good, Better, Best, Never Let it Rest) I’ve thought of a few things I still wish my 830 had.
1) An automatic quick way to bring the bobbin thread to the top for “clean” first stitches when I’m machine quilting.
2) A double-sided seam guide for the walking foot attachment to make it “bi-directional” like the clever one I googled for sale here:
www.threadstandhero.com/Quilting_Foot_Seam_Guide_Attach.html
3) An autothreader that works 100% of the time, even with the walking foot attached.
4) Calorie/Fat Free Chocolate eggs that pop from the sewing machine directly into your mouth at preset intervals…j.k…b.t.w. Happy Easter!
Does anyone else have any 830 wishes? -- Edited on 4/8/12 2:21 PM -- ------ "Look at the donut, not at the hole"

Date: 4/9/12 0:33 AM Pop out wheels like the shoes with the pop out skate wheels and a built in retractable luggage handle. Maybe a detachable skid plate that wraps up the sides from the bottom like a good piece of luggage.
If the pop out wheels could be controlled by a battery backed up power controller that would work great with the ramp that would come with it.
Short of that, a sewing table for the 830 that converts to a trailer so I would be more inclined to take it for classes. ------ I have no idea what Apple thought I was saying so be a Peach and credit anything bizarre to auto correct. |

Although I have not tested the number four feature out yet due to dietary restrictions.. I am pretty sure my Juki can do that .... and marshmellow peepers too.. PINK of course. |

Date: 4/9/12 6:00 PM I'll bet the people at Bernina would love to hear your wish list. My dealer tells me they are very responsive, and make new features available based on customer input. I saw on their website that you can send them and email (or snail mail - the address is at the bottom of the page)... www.threadstandhero.com/Quilting_Foot_Seam_Guide_Attach.html NAYY, just a happy customer :)
Edited to add - I heard this is why they added the middle stitching guide foot plate to the walking foot... that people just kept asking for it. It's kind of like a combined #10 and walking foot. so please - tell them! - because I want one of the double-sided walking foot guides, too! -- Edited on 4/9/12 6:03 PM -- |

Date: 4/9/12 11:01 PM Gosh, there's not much I'd change about my 820. Interchangable face plates for fun. A bomb-proof hard rolling case. Some arrangement of feed dogs, stitch plate, or a foot to sew 1/4" seams as easily and perfectly as the 5.5mm models do. An Arabic alphabet :D ------ 🌸 Plenty of machines, mostly Berninas 🌸 |

Date: 4/10/12 2:55 AM Ok, if we are fantasizing, yes a latte maker, even longer harp but made of some super-light metal, collapsible like a folding bike down to purse-size, direct Internet access to surf, download, edit, create, and stitch in seconds. A mind-meld feature so that it does what I want, not what I told it to do and a time-space manipulation feature so I can sew all I want and yet work, keep house, sleep, and interact with family and society. Plus a "get it done yesterday button". ------ 🌸 Plenty of machines, mostly Berninas 🌸 |
