I am happy to announce that we will be upgrading to a faster and more powerful web server on Wednesday 4/11/12 at 7 PM EST. We've been testing out the new server for the last few weeks and it should provide for a faster PR experience for all of us and will allow us to continue to add more features to PR and grow. With this server we are changing the hardware and the systems layer on which PR runs.

The site may be sporadically unavailable for 15-20 minutes between 7PM EST and 8PM EST on 4/11/12 but we expect this to go smoothly. Please report any issues you see once the upgrade is done, on this topic.

Ok..we are running on the new web server! We are still testing the site to make sure that it all works well.

Please post here if you see any odd behavior with the web site.

Claire should not be poking around here- rather she should be pants-fitting! It is faster Deepika! I had an internal error message that I emailed you about.

I haven't taken the new server for a spin with my laptop yet, but the site is running faster on my iPhone. Good work, Deepika.

Then, e-mails were written on paper and put in weird paper things called envelopes and the postal system delivered them. This was slow. Finally, e-mail as we know it came around."

I am, I am ! But I'm back to the 'reading and deciding what to do next' stage - so this is definitely the place to be LOL - and the quicker surfing is REALLY helping

Wow! I was on PR last night while this was happening and came across this thread. I wondered if I should sign off PR, but decided to remain during the migration. Other than one small hiccup (the screen froze for just a second) the transition was very, very smooth!
