Date: 4/10/12 1:35 PM I used to always hear that the "best" were the Gingher's, but now it seems I am beginning to hear that about Kai, instead. Is there really any consensus, or is still a fairly individual matter? (I haven't bought a really good pair yet...I have Fiskars for shears and Mundial cushionSoft for pinking.) |

Date: 4/10/12 1:55 PM Kai, without a doubt are better scissors. You will pay more, but they are much high quality. I have 3 pairs now, and prefer them to the Gingers. They are much sharper, and the professional ones stay sharp. I think they are also better balanced--just seem to sit in my hand better.
If you're headed to a sew expo any time soon, look for a booth.

Date: 4/10/12 2:52 PM I have Gingher's regular dressmaking shears and Kai pinking shears. In my experience, I think they are both excellent. |

Date: 4/10/12 3:05 PM Kai. They are light and super sharp. Even after having my Gingher shears newly sharpened they still weren't as sharp. Gingher is also very heavy to my hand. -- Edited on 4/10/12 3:06 PM -- |

Date: 4/10/12 3:33 PM I haven't tried Kai, but I just returned a pair of Ginghers because they were too heavy and hurt my hands. ------ emadethis.wordpress.com
