I hope I put this in the right category on this board.

I just finished a jacket in a blue melton wool (100%) and I realized I'd like to wash and lanolize it. There are a few details in cotton, the thread is poly, and there's a fleece decal. But 99% of the coat is this 100% wool melton.

Does anyone know how to go about lanolizing? I would really appreciate it.

What is lanolizing?

I know that wool has naturally occurring lanolin, but I have never hear of trying to add it back into a garment.

As I understand it makes for a longer-wearing, softer, more antibacterial garment.

I found a tutorial and posted a few questions; hopefully she'll reply.

OK, the author replied, and I'm ready to go! I bought Lansinoh and now just need the wool-wash. I'll report on results, here!
