I'm planning to buy a new Janome 2212 for my daughter's birthday and it seems I've heard good things of both of these online sellers/dealers? Anyone have a particularly positive experience from one or the other? Just trying to decide from whom to buy.... Thanks!

I have that sm & really like it. I bought mine online from quilterswarehouse. com. I think your daughter will really like it.

Oh thanks so much! I am really so glad to hear that. Hers "bit the dust" and a repair is as much as or more than I originally paid for it, plus it doesn't have as much as the 2212. (It was a Singer 6211, just straight and zigzag stitch only, and we were the fourth owners of it, off CL.) It was great to learn on! But it's all off-timing now and it's just not worth repairing and I want her to have a nice, shiny new machine with plenty of stitches. Thanks for sharing your positive experience with it!!! Very good to know.

I bought a Horn chair from Sew Vac Direct. Great price and very good customer service.

I bought my coverstitch from Ken's and I could not have asked for better customer service. I talked with them several times on the phone and the woman I talked to was ALWAYS as nice and helpful as could be.

Subject: Buy from SewVacDirect or Kens? Date: 4/15/12 7:51 PM

I bought my dress form from sewvac and they were as nice as could be. I live where I can go into Ken's, and of the two I prefer SVD.

Ooooooh, good replies to both. Choices, choices. But SewDucky is right there yet shops with SewVac. And I'm partial to seeing all the folks in operation at SewVac - it makes it seem more personalized, as if I feel I "know" "who" they are. Thanks everyone and I'll be sure to post after I've purchased and received the machine.

(It's so nice to have an online community that understands the thrill of sewing - all its related aspects.)

Oh you can get bobbins & feet from Sew Classic very very reasonable & super fast shipping. I forgot to mention that. And this sm also uses the cutie pink Janome bobbins.... I love those bobbins myself so I have a set of those as well as regular clear Janome bobbins. I use Organ needles which work very well. This sm can do twin needle too though I have not used that feature yet. ........... Very happy for you getting this nice sm...

I bought my Brother from Ken's and have had no problems, so I can't comment on the customer service. What impressed me was the speed of shipping ..it was in the mail to me the same day I ordered it! I think it was three hours later that I got the shipping number and when I checked the next morning it had been picked up and on its way.

I've purchased sewing accessories over the phone from Ken's and they are friendly and ship promptly.
