I really wish I could have taken it home with me. I need to save a few more dollars first. It sews so quiet and feels just like a hot knife flowing through butter. right now i have my serger and my sm on the same table and this horizon is much bigger than my Janome CD 3050. That is just a little thing when I finally get it I will have a place for it. |

Date: 4/19/12 4:46 PM Do they have a lay away program? Did you ask? Often dealers will not tell me they have such a program, as they prefer you buy on the brands payment plan.
I am glad you liked it. I have seen it and I liked it too. Tell us more about the dealer. How long were you there? What did you learn about the machine that so impressed you?

Date: 4/19/12 5:14 PM Is the 7700 just a new version of the 6600P? Or does it have features that the other doesn't have?
I still love my 6600, I think it's one of the best sewing machines ever for the price. I don't really need mine anymore but can't let myself sell it. ------ Linda

Date: 4/19/12 6:23 PM YOu know I didn't even look at the 6600 because it does not have a free arm. Since I make apparel the free arm is a deal breaker for me. It has way more stitches than I will ever use but I do like to put decorative stitches on some of my stuff as borders on pockets and things. What I really liked was how fast and smooth it was and how durable it felt. A purchase like this is a lot for me; I can't imagine buying it over the web without feeling it first. I have always been a Janome fan and I think that sways me a bit I am comfortable with it from the get go.
One more big thing I liked. THE DIAL. I have heard others complain about it but you know I thought it was very smooth and allowed me to get to the different stitches quickly and easily. Curretnly I have 50 stitiches and have to push a button up to 50 times to get to whatever stitch I want to use. I love having choices of stitches also, this is the whole reason I have a stash, so I can browse through what I have for a project.
I have looked at babylock symphony and Joyce also had brothers and Viking there in stock all set up to sew on and try out.
Oh and another thing Joyce gave me a great price I know is good because I have done my research. I don't want to haggle with people on price.
Since I saw it I have been thinking of where I am going to scrape the money together from to buy it. |

I use my machine for mostly garment sewing. I also have a Babylock TOL machine and the 7700 sews much better IMO. I think you will be very pleased with your machine. |

Date: 4/20/12 10:42 AM I would still like to know if they have a layaway plan or something that will work for you. What did she want for your dream machine? ------ Quilting is relaxing to me. I love to play with fabrics, patterns and colors.

Date: 4/20/12 10:47 AM The best I've heard for the 7700 is $1999 or $2999 but with the table (worth at least $200), 3160 (fully-featured 12lb machine worth around $700), trolley, and other extras included. ------ 🌸 Plenty of machines, mostly Berninas 🌸 |

Date: 4/20/12 12:21 PM 4U,
Your comments are high praise indeed!
I don't have a lot of experience with many different brands of machines but I do know that my janome is an amazing piece of workmanship and well worth the price, which I thought was extremely reasonable for all that was included.
If I were in the market now for a new machine I'd definitely be looking at the 7700 or the 12000. ------ Linda

Date: 4/20/12 1:57 PM The price is 1999. I didn't want the table (DH does a great job making our furniture and his will be much stronger) I have not asked her about a layaway plan yet I am still scrapping together funds from different places. I may have to do lay away for awhile. DH let me know our combined funds will not be used for sewing machines until he gets to buy woodworking machines. Apparently the last thing we bought was my Brother 780D, and he is correct it is his turn. But he doesn't know where all my funds are Hee hee. |

Date: 4/20/12 2:51 PM Just to let you know that is a great price for the 7700. They are selling for at least 500 to 600 more in my area.
The table sells for 400 to 500. -- Edited on 4/20/12 4:52 PM -- ------ Bernina 750Q, 635E, 380, Serger 1100DC |
