Date: 4/24/12 5:13 PM I found poly/cotton seersucker in a variety of stripes and prints at a fabric outlet store in Dallas while looking for plain cotton seersucker. This material feels thinner than traditional seersucker. I bought a little to use for a little girl's swimsuit. Is it weird I've never seen this fabric before? Date: 4/25/12 3:05 AM I think it's called Plisse. Most times softer, thinner, lighter and more bendable/flexible than Seersucker. Or the ones I've seen on the bolts in the fabric stores have all been. I have not made it up ever. But instead of the puckers/crinkly bits getting in there by the way they weave it, like Seersucker, it's more flat smooth yardage, that then gets chemically treated in spots on it, and that makes those parts of it puckery. |

That's why I always look for 100% cotton seersucker...which seems rare, like 100% cotton piqué PRINTS!!!------ Fashion Maté, where I blog about what I (eventually) sew : http://fashionmate.blogspot.com

Date: 5/2/12 1:39 PM Where'd you find it? Looks like it would be nice for summery sleepwear. |
