About a new embroidery only machine they have just introduced.

The PE 500. It has a 4 x 4 hoop and not as many built ins as the bigger brothers. It has a place to connect a computer, but not just a USB.

Looks nice and is only $299.00!

However, I don't own a laptop, so I am really glad to have the USB capability.

This embroidery machine has USB connectivity via cable. So, you need either a laptop or the embroidery machine next to your desktop computer.

To use a memory card for loading designs, you would need PED Basic w/rewritable card, another $100.

That's $400 you could put toward an embroidery machine with a larger embroidery area and USB drive.

I have been thinking about getting just an embroidery machine to go with my all in one (which is set up as embroidery 24/7). I think I might drool alittle......

I just bought this machine at walmart. It really is pretty to look at. Can't wait to start using it.

It looks very like the Innovis 500D that I've had for the last 7 years except that the 500D is a sewing / embroidery machine.

I've had no problems with mine and I've used it a lot. I would certainly buy another it they still made them

The only difference with this new model seems to be not having backstitch and speed control on the front of the machine.

I have this machine, and I actually like it! I have gotten a lot of use out of it in the past 2 weeks. I posted a review here at PatternReview.
I also have a Brother PE770, and I love it! The only thing I don't like is I can not find a case to fit it, so that I can carry it with me. I have been taking the PE500 with me to work, cause it will fit in a regular sewing machine tote.
