Trying to finish fitting 2 KS top for my son this weekend ks3750 and ks3028 - shoulder, back, underarm help needed

The blue top is KS3570 and the grey is KS3028. I traced a Lg in ks3570 and a xl in ks3028. DS says they are too tight under the arm and across the upper back, and his upper arms. The fabrics are getting a little looser with all the trying on and offs, but initially both arms pulled and fit under his arms as his right arm sleeve does, with the pulling from the under armscye out and up, esp. in the back. I also don't know why the sleeves are spiralling so much. All help would be deeply appreciated, as I only have him home for this weekend. I started these tops 2 yrs. ago but have only made decent fitting ones for DH, since he's around all the time and DS is not. DS' have all had issues, and I think I'm down to these final fitting issues - at least I hope so. All he's been hearing from Mom is what I'm going to sew for him, but in reality he has only one sweatshirt that I've made and I'm really starting to feel badly about it. Thanks in advance! Oh, one more thing...if I can salvage these great, but if not, the ks3750 (zippered one) I plan to somehow cut open the sleeves and add reflective piping down the centers (but not with all that spiralling) and possibly some across the front and back. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this would also be a bonus for me. These and others I plan to make will be from various wicking fabrics for bike riding. I swear the guys have very similar shapes but your son does have some wrinkles. If you have FFRP it says on page 173 that the solution to diagonal sleeve wrinkles is the need to rotate the sleeve in the armhole. "Rotate the cap until the sleeve falls the same way your arm does and the wrinkles will disappear." According to the sketches in the book it looks like your sleeve head needs to travel more toward the back of the garment. Funny how I never think to look at those books for answers since the models and problems are female, but a lot of fitting issues would still be similar, wouldn't they? Oh, if it would just be a rotation of the sleeves that would be great! I've serged the grey one, but only machine basted the blue prior to DS's visit, since I wasn't sure of the fit, so it can easily be undone. :) My son measures 45" around the upper chest - 18.5" across the front, from arm crease to arm crease and 21" across the back from arm crease to arm crease. His neck to shoulder bone is 6.5", neck is 17.5" and bicep is 17". Is that similar to your DH? He and my DH are similar sized, but due to different structure and muscles, the same size will fit them differently. DS is more muscular, esp now in the chest, back and arms, and DH is lankier, but a couple inches taller, with I think, a larger bone structure. I'll be checking out your review too, thank for mentioning it! I have to laugh, when I said I've been working on these 2 tops for the last 2 yrs. it wasn't *these* particular 2 tops, lol, though I have made the blue fabric into the same top for DH last spring. I purchased a lot of yardage of this HP knit in 3 colours on sale and they're my wearable-muslin fabrics. Once I get this right I want to proceed with the good supplex and dryflex I have. Thanks!
