Date: 5/11/12 3:48 PM Decided to go to Blythe for a bra fitting. Found out their idea of a "fitting" is to hand you as many different types and sizes they can find, till one does the job. I went in looking for a bit more coverage and a larger band size for the 34D's...After trying on at least a dozen bras and trying to make the sales lady understand that I am NOT a 32 anything, I left with a 34DDD(F) How did this happen. I just spent more money on this bra than I did on groceries I can "test" drive it for a few hours tomorrow. As long as I don't take off the tags, it can be returned in 10 days if I don't want to keep it. I went on line and found that Macy's sells the same bra for the same price. So it's not marked up at this little specialty store.
Is it really necessary to pay $74.00+tax for a decent fitting bra? |

Date: 5/11/12 4:00 PM I also wear a 34DDD and the short answer to your question "is it really necessary to pay $74.00 for a decent fitting bra?" is...
yes.
I have found that that size is available in a very limited number of brands, although I have found the Natori brand that I like quite a bit available on Ebay for around 30.00. Tags still on, so I feel better about buying them through Ebay. ------ Michelle

Date: 5/11/12 4:12 PM About a year or so ago I wandered into the lingerie department of Nordstroms and ended up leaving with two new bra's. The fitting lady had me try a bigger cup size. She was right they fit really well. I got off cheaper than you did...$58 each.
I will admit that these bras have become my favorites.
A few weeks ago I went to Kohls hoping to find a bra that fit as well and was less money. I tried on 14 bras and none fit as well. Once you have a well fitting bra it is hard to give up the comfort for a cheaper model.
A sad note: My favorite style of underware has been discontinued. ------ Ada

Date: 5/11/12 4:13 PM Michelle, thank you so much for the ebay suggestion. I just went on ebay and found the 3616 Chantelle (no tags) for $14.99! I'll know after tomorrow, if I'm going to keep this bra. I have to wear something before I know it's going to work. After trying on so many today, I was a bit sore. That's why I'm starting over in the morning If this bra fits, I'm going to have to learn how to do ebay. I can get 4 for the price of one! I guess I'm going to have to get use to the fact, my days of buying Vanity Fair and Bali at Kolhs and Pennys, are over. |

Subject: Say it aint so!!! Date: 5/11/12 5:35 PM I personally know the man who designs all of the bras sold by Victoria's Secret, plus bras for many other brands as well. He's freakin' rich. |

As to the cost...yeah, welcome to the world of industrial grade boulder holders. 74 isn't too bad, mine run well into the 150 range. Odd size band and large cup. Not much to do other then wear them.
Or go to corsets. Which are a lot more comfortable anyway. |
