I thought overall it was pretty good. I am thinking since they left out Susan's future, maybe there is a project for that at some point? Maybe not. She was one of the annoying characters to me, though.

I would have been totally satisfied seeing them done up as older ladies, meeting up one weekend every couple of years.

I watched just about every season except one or two. But, I'm also glad to see it go - I was tiring of it. They were becoming like really annoying family you just want to avoid, lol.
I was SO tired of Lynette's whining and complaining, tired of Gabby's selfishness. They all just seemed to do such idiot things the last couple of seasons it was pretty bad.
So, yeah, it was time to say goodbye! Now I'll have more time to sew on Sunday evenings! It was one of the few shows I watched.

Haven't watched the season finale yet.

I rather liked the show. But I have to agree that the last season or so was a bit lame. It's like they did not know what to do with the characters. I did not like Mike getting bumped off. Since the show was ending it did not seem necessary to do this. I also didn't like the way Bree's character had become so sleezy and dumb - which clearly she was not. I think they were trying for vulnerable but it came across as dumb.

But what I did like - the actors were all superb. That made up for a lot of weak scripts.

Yeah I thought it was crazy the way Bree's character changed so much over time. None of these ladies could have been as stupid as some of the things they had them doing. It was so frustrating at times - yet they always had a clever way of making it not as dumb as it first appeared.
I liked it during the years when they had mysterious plots involving side line characters, and it wasn't so much about just stupid things the girls would do.
The acting DID make up for a LOT of shark jumps, lol.

D. H. and Greys Anatomy were about the only 2 shows I watched 5 years ago when I married DH. He's gotten me into watching more TV, which is depressing. I never much liked TV at all. Now I am obligated to watch about 4 shows with him. That's not too bad I guess.

I missed some of the ending.. the part I missed was what happened at the trial.

Anyone care to clue me in on that. ?

The next thing I saw after Bree fainted were the ladies in the limosine going to the wedding.

Spoiler alert in case you haven't seen it yet!

Pigling -- Mrs McKlousky (sp) overheard Gabby and Carlos talking about the trial as Gabby was taking her turn taking care of Mrs. M, so she contacted the lawyer, came to the stand and said she killed him. They let her go due to her age and her illness.
Gabby made sure Carlos could not say he did it by strapping a knife into the back of his coat, so he wasn't allowed in the court building, lol.
Mrs. M died later in the show. They did a montage of past scenes while playing the song that she wanted played at her funeral. She died while listening to that song over and over. It was quite touching.

Tom and Lynette got back together, after Tom talks to Mrs. M's husband and realizes he has to tell Lynette he loves her no matter what the outcome.
Renee and the girls got into a limo to go to the wedding - already late -- and Susan's daughter's water broke. It got on Renee's wedding dress, so they made a side trip to Gabby's store, where they stole (borrowed) a dress while the others waited. Labor pains coming quickly, so they took off in the limo to the hospital, leaving Gabby and Renee to run to the church in the new dress.
Susan's DD gives birth and both seem to be fine. Tom and Lynette leave the reception upon word of the new grand baby. Bree leaves upon word Mrs. M has died.

They showed the girls playing one last poker game. They talk about how they will always find the time to get together no matter what. But then Mary Alice's voice over comes in and says that was not meant to be. They then go into a short montage of each character showing what happens to them in the future.
Gabby and Carlos develop a clothing website for Gabby, and later she is selling on HSN - they move to CA very rich, and argue into old age.
Bree and the lawyer marry, and move to KY, where she becomes a state representative.
The Dana Delaney character returns briefly to brag about her new billion $ company of frozen french pastries - and asks Lynette to be her US CEO. She accepts and she and Tom move to NYC, buy a penthouse, and they wind up with 6 grand kids.
They do not show Susan's future, but show at the very end, her meeting the lady who buys her house. They show the woman has her own secrets - as she looks inside of a mysterious box which she hides in a cubbard. Then Susan drives around the block one last time, and is watched by all the ghosts of past, dead characters -- Mike first, the pharmacist who killed Rex, Rex, Mrs. M's and her son, the girl that Mary Alice and Paul chopped up and buried, Juanita Solis, on and on. They do not show Nicolette Larsen's character. Lastly Mary Alice.
They also showed a brief encounter between Mary Alice and that character whose name I forget that started it all - how she got so curious about Mary Alice and Paul's secret - which started the whole thing.
They never mention or show Orson.
Everyone's only complaint is they should have stated the girls got together a few more times over the years, but they only said that they never played poker again. No metion of reunions.
Who knows? Maybe there is something in the works down the road....??

Haven't watched this in a couple of years but when vet daughter was out of school in the summer we watched it like we were glued. We both got very involved in it and would watch the reruns even. I don't know why they are killing it. My deceased mil used to watch Days when my children were small and I asked a lady friend the other day who watches what was happening on there and she said Bo and Hope and Stefano were still having intrigue after 25 years of that story line. She even tapes it if she needs to miss or wants to rewatch that. I had to laugh as the few times I caught a bit of that through the years it was like the same old thing was happening. Maybe they could have done this with Desperate HWs and we could continue to spend afternoons in the neighborhood with Gabby,Bree and the gang. Lol!

I am hoping they do some sort of project with them as older ladies, showing their new adventures, but it doesn't sound like that is in the works right now at all.
Yahoo or some such service did a story on interviews with the cast, and they all seem to be going to new projects, moving away from CA or not interested in anything DH related for a while.
Antonio Chavira said he won't do anything so *estrogen* laden ever again! If it isn't mud, crime, grime, etc he isn't doing it, lol. He lives in San Antonio.
Marcia Cross says she looks forward to paying more attention to her family and not having to watch her weight so carefully.
Terri Hatcher is going to direct and produce some things.
Doug Savant has no plans but to rest and relax.
James Denton is moving to Minnesota to be closer to his wife's family, but will likely still act some.
Brenda Strong will play Bobby Ewing's wife on the new Dallas.
Felicity Huffman looks forward to being a full time Mom again, but star in something with her real life husband.
Eva Longoria is in a big screen movie this summer, and has immediate plans to help the president get re-elected. She is one of 35 chair persons for his campaign.

But, that's the thing - in about 5 years it sure would be fun to see them one last time, as *golden girls*, lol. Even if it was just the 4 girls getting together for a fun weekend!

My DH and I watch a lot of TV in the evenings. At least we do in the winter because it is just too cold and dark to want to go out.

Anyway, I also watch Grey's Anatomy and now the Good Wife and Harry's Law. I get a real kick out of Harry's Law usually I guess in part because I really like most anything Kathy Bates is in. She is terrific and the rest of the cast is great too. The cast in the other shows are really strong as well.

We also watched House. That was a bit like watching a train wreck. It is hard to believe that the guy that plays House is as Brit as they come in real life.

It looks like Grey's Anatomy might go through some changes as well. Wait and see I guess.

For now, with season endings upon us I am just looking forward to getting outside and enjoying some great spring/summer weather!

I dunno; it bothered me and it took a while to figure why, but I think it's that it was kind of like porn for women:

Successful, powerful women with beaming, tender-hearted, supportive husbands behind them all the way, the inverse of the 1950s dream.
