I've been holding back purchasing Amy Butler's adult and child raincoat patterns because of the lack of available line drawings. I love the fabric, l love the arty images but please, oh please, what does the garment LOOK like. Where are the seams? This should come as NO surprise that people who sew like the line drawings. It's required to really understand what is going on with the garment. Is she ever going to change her ways? I'll buy a bag pattern without a line drawing, but no clothing.

Does anyone else have this issue? Are the line drawings available on a website somewhere? Inside the pattern envelope?

I had this same issue a few years ago with one of her patterns that I wanted. Needless to say, I just don't buy AB patterns.

My local quilt store has many of Amy's patterns made up as samples for the classes that are taught. These patterns are very simple in design for the most part, Amy is a fabric designer not a clothing designer per se. The clothing is just another vehicle to show off her fabric. I'm sure the fabric manufacturers hope someone will like the pattern enough to buy 3-4 yds of her fabric to go with it. Most of the fashion patterns found on this page: AMYS don't seem to have much styling, you could probably find one of the big 3's patterns to match them and at a much lower cost. I checked the reviews for Amy's patterns here on PR, most are for bags/totes and accessories, very few clothing patterns of late have a review. Just my opinion mind you.

I'm in agreement. Amy Butler Co. is losing business because of the lack of line drawings. I'm interested in the kids raincoat because it goes up to the larger sizes. I haven't found that in the big4.
