Date: 5/17/12 7:23 PM I currently have a Brother NX400 and want to know how I find out the stitch count. I can't find it mentioned anywhere in the manual or anything in the menu options for finding this information.
Thanks |

Date: 5/17/12 9:40 PM Your machine does not keep a stitch count, unless it's something a tech gets when they punch in a code. Usually the embroidery/combo machines keep stitch counts for their embroidery designs. |

Date: 5/18/12 3:17 PM It could very well be that only TOL embroidery machines show the stitch count....accumulative and not just for the design you have pulled up.
I can view the stitch count on my Ellegante. |

Date: 7/29/12 4:42 PM It's interesting that this has come up since I was just thinking about stitch count this weekend. I know when buying an embroidery/sewing machine combo (or just embroidery), the stitch count becomes important to us as we view it as how much a machine has been used. In some cases, people may pass up a very nice machine because of the stitch count being too high.....but what is too high? When you think about it, vintage machines never had a stitch count and they plug away just fine.
I've had my Ellisimo Gold for just over a week and have put over 200,000 stitches on it already. At first I thought, wow....that's alot. But when you consider the "average" design can be anywhere from 5,000 to 20,000, the stitch count can get up there pretty quick. So now I'm not even really thinking about the stitch count anymore.
If I were buying a used machine, I would want to buy from someone that could show the annual service records. I think if a machine had 5 million stitches on it and it was a couple of years old, but serviced religiously, I'd go for it. ------ Babylock Ellisimo Gold

Date: 7/30/12 6:08 AM Good thought. Though I'm not into the embroidery at the moment, one never knows and that info could be very helpful. My BFF wants an embroidery machine and I'll pass this tidbit onto her. Thanks. |
