I began teaching myself to sew this month. I have two machines, a Brother XL2600i and a Singer 338. The Brother has snap-on feet and the Singer low-shank. Yesterday I noticed that the Brother appears to use low shank feet via an adapter. I tried a couple of low-shank on the Brother and they fit and worked, but one low-shank foot, a piping foot, caused the needle to hit the foot slightly, making it unusable This made me think that perhaps the Brother does not use low-shank, but something very much like low-shank feet, but not an exact match. Is this true?
