Date: 5/23/12 5:53 PM My local JoAnns has denim in gorgeous colors for spring! This is a 100% cotton denim. want to use it for capris- any opinions out there regarding this fabric - especially the colors? Thank you! |

Date: 5/23/12 6:00 PM I've never been a fan of JoAnne's denim. http://www.premiumdenimoutlet.com/DOMESTIC.html carries a lot of exceptional denims, especially the stock from Kaihara and Cone, and is cheaper than JoAnne's. |

Date: 5/23/12 6:02 PM I haven't done the colors in my own jeans but have for my kids and it was fine. I do have a pair of regular blue denim jeans from there I made probably 4 years ago and still going strong. ------

Date: 5/23/12 6:05 PM I have a couple of ja's denims, but will only use then for muslins. They are veryscratchy after washing and wouldn't be comfortable,IMO. It should be noted that I am very pickyabout that, tho. I have received several different denimsfrom fabric.com, and have been very pleased with them. |

Date: 5/23/12 7:33 PM I saw those also...very pretty. I have some raspberry color that I haven't sewed yet, but it came out of the prewash in much better shape than the denim I've had previously from Fabric.com. It's fairly soft and not all wrinkled!
If you get the current JoAnn's magazine, it has 50% off coupons on the back cover. Otherwise use the 40%off mailer coupons asI haven't seen it go on sale recently. ------

Date: 5/23/12 9:28 PM I haven't seen the colors, but have considered buying the regular denim. My main problem with many of their denims is that the need to be washed in cool water and hung to dry. There's no way I was going to hang my blue jeans to dry, it would just take too long. I really want to make my own jeans, though. |

Date: 5/23/12 9:39 PM The only denim I got at j.a.'s seems really weak at the seams, and has noticeable white stress at seams.... the seams are not too tight, or anything different than other stuff I've sewn... had already decided I will not buy demin (or actually anything much) from them again. |
