2 members like this. Date: 5/25/12 5:14 PM I'm making my first blouse - simplicity 2758. I'm taking a bit of a gamble, as it is for my dress making course (which means it will be assessed) but I am not making a muslim. I did for the trousers (again for the course) but as I only have 6 weeks left before I need to hand everything in, time is of the essence.
I must say, on first try the bodice which I have just put together today is looking fabulous!! I am thrilled. I normally have loose fabric puddling in my lower back, but there is hardly a hint of this.
I'm thinking by the time I add the sleeves it will all sit even better. Lets hope I am not being premature in my celebration, but just wanted to say so far this is looking like a great pattern for beginners.

Date: 5/26/12 2:11 PM Smooth and very pretty. (I like deep colors even in warm weather....) I hope you post again when the sleeves are in (though it sounds like you'll be busy for a few weeks). ------ Jeanne

Date: 6/5/12 6:51 PM as requested here are photos of the blouse with sleeves attached.
Now all that is left is the dreaded (nine!) buttonholes and more pressing. How I would have laughed if someone would have told me how much time I would spend behind an ironing board 3 years ago. I would have scoffed. |
