I was so thrilled when I put together S 4076 in just a few days. Sewing is so laborious for me as a beginner with all the tissue fitting and muslins. But I needed something to wear on Mother's day so I dove in and made this top to wear with a snow leopard print skirt my mom has sent me. And it was wearable! I was thrilled
So, you can imagine my surprise when my husband and I walked past a little boutique and saw this! . The center seam is edited out. An invisible zipper in the back which was a low-cut V. Of course, it's a dress, not a top, but the basic construction--that twist of the two top pieces, is the same. We checked the price. $285!!!
If it's possible, I'm even prouder of my top now.

Tonight a friend of mine sent me a link to a dress that she thought I'd like. It was nearly $300 and mostly made of polyester. I know I could do better myself and also buy a new bag, shoes, and pay for dinner and a taxi home with the same money. It does feel good, doesn't it? |

Date: 5/30/12 10:07 AM Wow! That is so amazing - and, you are so right. It just feels good to see what you are making, be able to compare it to RTW, and know that you are getting a bargin and enjoying the process. ------ Needles Up!
