But actually, it doesn't make my Top 5 Fave Fabrics list. 1. Wool flannel 2. Wool crepe 3. Wool cashmere 4. Silk Dupioni 5. Boiled wool (6 is silk charmeuse) If there's one thing I have more of than rayon/Lycra knit fabrics, it's all of the above. That's partly coz I'm a very slow suit sewer...and partly coz I only have space for so many suits each year (and fabrics take up less space than clothes, bwahahahaha!) Knits are certainly on my Top 10, and they're what I wear on a daily basis, at least in tops and Jammies. Anyhoo...what are your Top 5 Fave Fabrics? ------ I heart Panzy, Pfaff Creative Performance, the sewing machine love of my life! And Rupert (Pfaff 2023), Baby (BL Enlighten), Victor (BLCS), Ash (Bernina 350SE), Pal (Bernina 530), Kee (Bernina 750) and the Featherteen Flock! Most of all, I heart Woo (HimmyCat). Regardless, Wool cashmere. Silk chiffon Silk burlap (Okay, this is a cheat, I'm waiting for the white to be restocked before I order, but I know I'm going to love it.) Double faced wool. Quality cottons with small amount of Lycra, I just can't get over how tidy they stay throughout the day - no saggy elbows, no baggy knees. I guess if I go with what I use the most it would be 4-ply silk crepe, silk crepe, silk jersey, linen, and wools. I sew alot of knits too. I like the metallics from EOS and the ponte. I have tons of silk though- tweeds, linens, crepes, charmeuse, voile.

It's absolutely heavenly! I've never seen 100% silk boucle before or since. It itches me, but then I don't have to wear suits or blazers anymore. Linen blends, challis because the prints are subdued-not wild, soft knits, lawn, and fun cotton prints for GK's. Anyone know about Viscose/sources? Supposedly different than other rayons--dry clean or hand-wash. I have a lovely RTW top made in India. Feels like a challis with more body, but still cool for summer. I don't think I've ever seen it in the usual stores. I'm finding some ITY knits purchased online can be heavy, just had to shorten an ankle-length summer skirt because the weight was oppressive. I live where it is hot, so although I love sewing with wool, I don't wear it often. My absolute fabric have is Cotton Lawn. It is lightweight, easy to sew, drapes beautifully, and is washable! So, the fabrics I love to wear and/or sew are: 1. Cotton Lawn 2. Rayon Knit 3. Linen 4. silk dupioni 5.
