Date: 5/31/12 5:39 AM Very first impressions, what a lovely machine.
I've been trying the functions out, manual in left hand, stylus in right, foot on pedal
I thought I would have difficulty operating this machine, but it's just so easy [so far, anyway] Very intuitive, and user friendly. Lots of on screen info to guide you
The presser foot lowers when you lower the needle, and raises when you use the knee lift or the button on the front of the machine. I still go for the lever, but that's habit, not a problem.
Stitches beautifully in sewing mode, not yet tried the embroidery, and obviously does much much more than I've mentioned here, but just so excited, I wanted to share what I've used so far.
This is by far the most expensive machine I have ever owned, and I researched machines to the death, thinking I would go for the bernina 580, then saw this, and fell straight away.
The embroidery area is huge, 14x8, which is what I think helped me choose this machine. It feels very solid, like my Bernina 440 does
Anyway, these are just initial impressions, in no way meant to be a review, just wanted to let anyone know, who might be thinking about this machine

I love this line and don't forget the coffee on the side because it's serious business.
So glad your enjoying this machine. btw did you purchase the grand dream hoop as well with the machine and embroidery unit? I'm intrigued by this concept. I may buy the giga hoop for my janome embroidery machine and try it out. ------ Janome 300E

Date: 5/31/12 1:07 PM I got 3 hoops with the machine, 350x200, 250x150 and 120x120, so that will have to do for now. I intend to 'quilt in the hoop' so will get the 200x200 asap, and then go for the grand dream hoop later.

Date: 6/22/12 2:41 PM I'm glad to hear this! I'm very interested in this machine, although it's not really realistic for me to get it right now. How much is this machine without the embroidery? My local Pfaff dealer won't talk price over the phone, and I really don't want to drive there/deal with their pushy salespeople just to figure out the price range. ------ Olivia, my Pfurple Pfaff Creative Performance
