Bought my first embroidery machine yesterday after several weeks of debating. I'm 9 months pregnant with my third girl so it will come in good use, it's finding the time to use it.

Wondering what thread to purchase for my machine. I would prefer to get a set of thread colors vs. individual but I would like all the experienced advice I can get. Bulk purchase or individual spools, brand?

I have a Joann's close (I get the coupons) & my dealer is offer my 20% off all supplies. The sell floriani, Robison-Anton & some Madeira thread.

Thanks for your time & help with it.
Jennifer

For me, it's not so much the brand but whether or not I'd like cotton or rayon thread. Some people like the shininess of the rayon, I like the matte finish of cotton. I've bought sets before, and wound up with colors I'd never use (I used them for sewing instead). I've used all three you've listed, as well as some Gutermann and have tried a few spools of Molynecke (no longer found) but I go back to my inexpensive cottons all the time. I buy my thread at ThreadArt when it's on sale.

I have had the 300e for quite a few years and I use the Madeira Poly-Neon # 40wt. I have the Rayon too, but it dose not wear as well as the poly-neon, [ but I like the shine better] so the poly-neon might hold up better for children's clothes.
The bobbin thread is very important in my 300e, if I use ANY bobbin thread other than the Janome bobbin thread , the bobbin thread will appear on the top of my design. It does beautiful work but it is picky with the bobbin thread. You will love your 350, Janome makes good machines!

I love my Janome 350. It has been happy with every brand thread I have tried. It's favorite is metro, metroem.com. It is also my favorite, love the price. I have wound my own bobbins until recently. Using prewounds from Allstitch.com and my Janome loves them also. Keep her clean and she isn't very fussy. Enjoy
