Date: 6/5/12 2:02 PM Hallo,
I purchased lots of needles from ebay and got lost what needles goes where.
My guess is:
Organ ELx705 is for cover stitch machine (75/11suk, 80/12suk, 90/14suk) what suk means ? Can I use all of them with CS machine ?
Machine takes ELX705CF 80/12, 90/14
I think I made mistake ordering needles for my serger.
My Imagine serger takes 130/705H-S HAX 1SP.
I received 15x1sp regular and BP.
I also purchased embroidery needles from this seller, these needles http://www.ebay.com/itm/140346166604?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_787wt_1348 in different sizes, for woven and stretch fabrics. But it look to me, that they are better for my serger .
On the needle box is written HAX1 130/705 15x1.
Please help me to sort my needles. I tried to use "serger needles" and my poor serger made really bad sound with them
I have:
1. HAX1 130/705 15x1.
2. 15x1sp
3. ELx705
Thank You in advance for help ------ I'm sorry for my poor grammar. English is not my first language.

1 member likes this. Date: 6/5/12 3:49 PM I use sewing machine needles in my Imagine. I just go by type: Microtex (my choice over universal) Stretch, Denim and size. Size will depend on the fabric. The heavier the fabric the larger the needle size.
This book is a "must have" for anyone who uses a serger. |

I recently purchased my Imagine and the dealer said to use sewing machine needles, like schmitz. This was a selling point for me.
As pp states, be sure to use the correct needle for the fabric you are sewing. IE stretch needles for sewing on knits, etc.
ETA: this pdf needle chart may help iudentify the uses for your needles http://www.sewing.org/files/guidelines/22_115_sewing_machine_needle_charts.pdf -- Edited on 6/5/12 4:29 PM -- |

I believe the SUK means they are a medium ball point needle. As I understand it, the Elx705 needles come in a universal point and a ball point. I was looking for information on needles for my Janome coverstitch this morning and that is what I learned. Good luck! |

Date: 6/6/12 10:47 AM Use regular sewing machine needles in the BL serger. I usually use Scmetz HS for knits. The SUK needles are for lycra swim wear is my understanding but use them if it works for you.
The BL Coverstitch requires EL x 705 types. There are very few sizes. The is also one designated EL x 705 CF for light fabrics per the manual.
