Any idea how to get the sensoramic button holer to work on the Pfaff 3.0 Expressions? It's plugged in and the screen allows me to change the length but it never sews a button hole. It just sews a straight line and doesn't stop and bar tag nor does it zig zag. What's up? The manual isn't any help and the shop that sold it to me is clueless.

When you took it into the shop did they try another buttonhole attachment? It could be that the one you are using is bad. I saw this at the dealer that I frequent. Also, are you using the foot control? (Or is the button that you push to start the machine sewing?) I once mixed up the foot controls on my Pfaffs and ZING!I had problems!

Wow, I didn't know that the sensor BH foot was an option with this macihine.
I'm familiar with the sensor BH foot on Viking machines and figured that Pfaff would also have the same but I did not see that the sensor BH foot was available for the Ex. 3 on the Pfaff site.
I did see that a "sensor free motion foot" was available for the Expression 3 though which I thought was interesting being that I had never heard of one of those.

I have this machine and mine works fine. Forgive me if I state the obvious but I'll run down the steps:

1. attach the cable for the sensormatic foot to the machine. Be sure the plug is fully inserted. Of course, attach the foot to the ankle as well.

2. Select one of the buttonhole stitch patterns (25 thru 32). As soon as you select a buttonhole stitch, the display changes to the "buttonhole" display rather than what you see for the other stitches. (Allows you to change the length of the buttonhole as opposed to the length of the stitch.) If you're seeing the same screen display you see for stitch number 1, the machine has not reacted to your stitch choice and you are not going to get a buttonhole.

3. Lower the foot onto your fabric, aligning the red arrow on the slider with the notch on the foot. Then step on the gas!

Are these the steps you took?
