Ballrooming Dancing Dresses questions...

I have a question about a trend I've seen in this season's Dancing with the Stars....and can't seem to find the answer. Anyone out there I can chat with?

DWTS tends to be more American Smooth than International Standard, but the Latin costumes are quite similar. Ask me anything. I got the muslin skirt pinned on the Latin dress this afternoon and will post some updates soon.
