How complicated is it?

I recently purchased this pattern and would love to add short sleeves to it. Is it simply a matter of finding a pattern with sleeves and changing the armholes to match or is it more complicated with a bias cut top?

Why not find a pattern that has sleeves and looks like this? Or if you really, really like this pattern, why not make a cap sleeve--one that drapes over the shoulder, (as in a very extended shoulder)? That way, you won't have to set it in; the sleeve will have a little flounce at the top and will look cute.

I think if you have a tried and true woven top with sleeves you like, you can just overlay the two patterns and use the armhole of the TNT along with its matching sleeve.

Bias is not too picky that way, provided there's enough ease. One of the bits of advice you will see if you read Threads Magazine for example is that you can make the sleeves of your regular woven shirts more comfortable and possibly prettier in the drape department just by cutting the sleeves on the bias.

You could try drafting your own using this article.
