I ordered and received some great Thomas the Train fabric from fabric.com and now I would love some help deciding what to do it. I have three complimentary pieces, one yard each to work with. All ideas are appreciated. Thanks

First of all. what kind is it. cotton, knit, something else.
My first thoughts would be shorts. Pj's. Shirt. Maybe just a lay and nap quilt extra thick. Could you post some picture's of the pieces.

Pj's would be adorable.

I made some for my son when he was around that age and I used 2 complimentary Thomas fabrics. The 2nd fabric was for the pocket and cuffs/bands on the sleeves and bottoms of the legs. You could mix and match (like colorblocking but with prints) and make shorts and pj pants and a pj shirt.

Thomas the train fabric

Another T.T.T fabric

The fabric is 100% cotton.

Pillows are fun (I made train pillows for my train-mad preschooler--as far as I know, actual Thomas fabric wasn't available then, about a decade ago). Also a tote bag or soft fabric "box" for storage. Or lunch bag.

I have made a train roll for my DGS that he uses to transport his trains when he goes to visit someone

Thomas Train Roll

Some Engineer flannel PJs with a Thomas applique

PJ Applique

... and a quilt for his bed (using a Thomas panel)

Have also made several pillows and a tote bag but I don't have photos of those.

Love your fabrics BTW ... can't wait to see what you decide to make.

We have had Thomas the Tank design on fabric for many years. It is a famous character in British children's books, tv, etc. Thomas the "Tank" is a steam engine (tank) from Wales, as I understand it. Little boys always loved it at about age 3-6. Whole bedrooms were designed around it! Thomas the Tank speaks in a Welsh accent, I believe.

You could make a bandana, a throw pillow for a bed, I like the pillow case ideas too. Make a pajama bag carrier, for sleepovers. Use it as an interesting lining for a kid's back pack. A camp-style shirt would work too

As a new mother of a boy... if it was me... give it to someone else! Perhaps the parent of a girl?

We are drowning in train/car/plane clothing and everything - might be worth checking they would really appreciate this, as they might feel like me!

It's a bit like only making pink things with frills and flowers for girls.

But at least we don't have a son CALLED Thomas like our friends, who are fed up to the back teeth of Thomas the Tank Engine (as he is known here).
