Date: 6/18/12 5:25 PM For those of you who blog -
Why did you choose Blogger or Wordpress or which ever site you used to build your blog?
Are you glad you did? (And/or did you switch from another site you didn't like as much?) Would you choose this one again?
What features drew you? Do you actually use them now? What is the most useful/helpful thing about the site? What about it annoys you the most?
I am thinking about starting one (not sure if it would be about sewing or my sewing and riding both, heck maybe even some baking thrown in, lol), but would like to hear some BTDT stories first.

Date: 6/18/12 5:59 PM I use Wordpress because that is what my daughter uses. Zero research, but it serves my basic purposes. ------ http://bgballroom.wordpress.com to follow the progress on my next ballgown. |

Date: 6/18/12 9:27 PM I use blogger because wordpress made my head hurt ( a lot) when I started looking into both of them.
Blogger made my head hurt a little, until I figured out that blogger, Firefox, and Mac did not make good playmates. As soon as I started using Google Chrome as my main browser, blogger was a piece of cake to figure out.
Now that I understand a bit more about the whole blogging thing, wordpress might make more sense to me, but I don't have any reason to switch at this point. I tend to keep things pretty simple on my blog, and feel that all of my needs are served pretty well. From what I understand (and this is basically hearsay), if you want more complex and extensive formatting capabilities, wordpress is better at that.

1 member likes this. Date: 6/18/12 10:11 PM Blogger because it works (no trouble since 2003), it is easy and you have the option to use HTML if you chose and have the ability, and you can do lots of things free that WordPress makes you pay for. Also, blogger stores all your uploaded pictures to a Picasa folder in an account that you will automatically have if you join Blogger or get GMail, easily signed into wiht your Google account as Blogger is a service of Google now. SO - really, there are lots of good things about Google and their services, despite the negatives you may hear. ------ "Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible."

Date: 6/19/12 0:55 AM I use blogger.
Why?
It was the first blog site around when I started-my points, kept bugging me till I joined! lol haha
I personally really like it. Like was said, I like the option of using/writing my own HTML.
Wordpress came out later and I think I gave it a try once and didn't like that I couldn't just write the html how I wanted and keep going.
The thing I don't like about blogger, to use the newer archive system if you want to write your own html now you have to use xtml. Which took me a little while to figure out, html is easier for me! But, they took away their old archive system that they used with it, so if you choose to keep the old style you have no way of getting to your archives. So...in a nutshell they keep changing things! hahaha BUT, I also have a pretty unique blog I think, because I was able to write the xtml myself. And I like it. ------ Visit my blog http://www.heathersprairie.blogspot.com |
