1 member likes this. Date: 6/19/12 9:28 PM I received an email the other day that Sewaholic is releasing a pants/shorts pattern. For those unaware, this small company, specialises in designing patterns for pear shaped women. From the email the pants are " designed for curvy hips, fuller thighs and a narrow waist."
Fitting wise: the pants have a ... "centre back extension. Ever looked inside a pair of men's suit pants? They have extra-wide seam allowances at the centre back so the pants are easily altered for a custom-fit at the waist."
I am not affiliated with this company in any way, just spreading the joy about a new pants pattern.

BTW The pattern is not on the website at the moment. I'm sure someone who has recevied the email and computer savvy can post a photo

Date: 6/20/12 11:51 PM I think the pattern looks like it has potential, although I think the fit of the pants in the picture is somewhat poor and not flattering. I'm going to keep an open mind, however, and see how the reviews come back. The shorts are definitely super cute.

Date: 6/21/12 8:38 AM I didn't find this pattern on Sewaholic's site or blog yet, but another blogger has posted photos here.
I haven't tried any of the other Sewaholic patterns yet, but might check the pants. It would be interesting to compare to other patterns to see how differently they're drafted. ------ --Robyn

Date: 6/21/12 4:00 PM Checked out the models wearing the new pattern and they don't look very curvy to me! Models look as if they have straight hips.

Date: 6/21/12 4:20 PM I really like the shape of the leg. Having made the Minoru, the Sewaholic sizing is certainly based on pear shape proportions . I am not a pear, so I will pass on these (I had to size down the hip on the Minoru quite a bit. Burda is a more reliable pant draft for me). It's always interesting to see the patterns made up on the pattern testers. -- Edited on 6/21/12 4:21 PM -- |

Date: 6/21/12 4:22 PM Kind of wish she would design for more figure-types besides just pear-shapes, but this looks like a good pattern. |

Yeah, me too, I have the cambie dress and am planning on making it, but a bit worried about fitting my hourglass into her pear pattern...------ Yards sewn 2012: 34
