ITH Pin Cushion need help attaching wristband

I'm on my second one, having made some changes in fabric choice and design density. Here are two views of what I have so far: click here click here As shown, before I stuff the pin cushion, I need to attach the wristband, and it needs to be solidly attached. Any ideas? I make wrist pincushions, although not this particular design. My pincushion has a button in the centre of it. I stitch the button on through the wrist band as the last step, stitching through each hole 3 times. I find it very secure. The first one I made I slipstitched around the bottom after it was stuffed as well, but I didn't like the extra stitching, so now I just stitch the button on through the wrist band. Then, you could slipstitch one of them in place so the whole thing wouldn't turn around on you. Or, just use one wide "belt loop" and then slipstitch one edge of it to the wristband, accomplishing the same thing. Good luck, and please let us know how you solve this!

How would I attach the belt loop to the leather bottom AFTER the pin cushion is sewn. Because it is in-the-hoop, I cannot add anything of bulk to the bottom. Additionally, the bottom is stitched to the top after the design is embroidered. Right now the only solution I can come up with is to handsew the loop or wristband to the leather bottom which will be a true challenge since the top and bottom are already assembled. ------ Indecision may or may not be my problem. -Jimmy Buffet http://chihuahuaonmylap.blogspot.com/

But because this one is so small (barely 3" diameter), I'm thinking the button will take up too much of the pin surface. Maybe a smaller button than I usually use?? I'm filling the cushion with crushed English walnut shells (nearly as fine as sand). You just put it under the hoop when you sew. Sounds crazy, but it works! Of course, this would be done before sewing on the top. I would just sew it by hand. The leather sounds like a great idea, since those pesky pins poke through sometimes. Could you try a wrist band that closes with velcro so that it could be sewn to the pincushion in the flat?
