I just got my class booklet for ETA sew expo in Irvine, CA. The website isn't updated with the class schedules yet but there are a lot of the same instructors from last year.

Anyone planning to go?

It's a 3 day sewing expo with classes, shopping hall and a fashion show. It's not a big expo so class sizes are smaller and several classes are 2hr+ so you get hands-learning. The shopping areas is small but you get everything from patterns, supplies, notions and fabrics. The fashion show is a fashion challenge that selected sewers participate in and model their creations. It's a great time to be had for all us sewing geeks.

I was one of the fashion show participants from last year. I think you have to be invited to participate, but the fashion show is free to watch. It's a lot of fun and the classes are good, especially if you are new to sewing. It's put on by Peggy Sager's from Silhouette Patterns. The best part is you usually can get a deal on patterns from independent pattern companies that are hard to get except on-line.

I found a video of the highlights of the show. You can see some of the classes, the show floor/vendor hall and the fashion show. To see the fashion show I think you need a pass to the show floor. So technically it's not free if you're just going to see the fashion show and not taking the classes. Sherrill, great job on your outfit!

Well, I guess I'll keep checking the website periodically to get more info. There's nothing there about prices or classes or anything? Do you have to call or email to get more info?

Keep us posted!

Many thanks for your over-the-top post! There's plenty there and something for everyone. I just emailed Peggy to learn when we'd learn more.

I've never met her or made a Silhouette pattern. I've recently ordered and will give them a try. I'm also in NYC when she is doing a city fabric buying trip. I have my own hotel arranged, so interested to see if she can find a way for me to join in.

Those sound like great classes, I wish I lived a little closer. If you're interested in home dec at all, take one of Karen's classes. She's from my area and I really enjoyed the slipcover class I took from her.
