When we found out the groom's grandmother had made many of the wedding gowns and veils for the girls in the family, my daughter and I asked her to make my daughter's veil. My daughter designed the style she wanted, then sent "Grandmother" many yards of white cotton chiffon plus leftover lace from what we were using to make the wedding dress. I think she did a lovely job.

Here is a pic of the whole two tiered veil

At the train of the veil, Grandmother cut many tiny flowers from the lace and tacked them on, adding a tiny seed bead to the centers.

Funny story: a few days after we shipped the materials to Grandmother, my daughter got a call from the Grandfather. He was laughing. It seems Grandmother had the yards of chiffon spread all over the floor with the cut flowers placed on the chiffon, but not pinned on yet because she was finalizing their placement. At that time, their Grandson, the Groom, called the Grandparents to tell them that he was about 10 minutes from their house for a surprise visit! Grandmother had to really hustle to gather up all of that chiffon and all of those lace flowers and hide them away before the Groom got to the house. There was NO WAY she was going to let him get a sneak peek at that veil!

what an honor to have the grooms grandmother make the vail.
this is something that can be passed down for generations.
My grandmother tatted my tiara. It will be someting my daughter will wear someday when she gets married.
the vail is beautiful.

What a beautiful veil - I especially love the cotton chiffon fabric. How special to have a grandmother make it.

Best wishes to the happy couple. Show us pictures when you can.

The veil is beautiful. Two years ago my daughter-in-law to be asked me to make her veil; everytime I look at the weding pictures I am so honored to have been given the opportunity to participate in such a personal way. I am sure the groom was thrilled to have his grandmother be such a special part of his big day.
