2 thread converter for pfaff 4850 coverstyle

Elna 2 thread converter If anyone has an Elna serger numbers:-614,624,634,644,704,744,pro 905/dcx,925dcx,945dcx,or pro 4 dc... You should have the same converter if so could you please send me a pic...I have been told that this may fit my Pfaff coverstyle which I bought minus this piece and am having great difficulties getting it...any help would be really good as I want to use this machine for coverstitch and chain stitch.. A 2 thread converter is also called a spreader by some manufacturers. If you cannot find the one for your serger through either dealers Pfaff now (SVP) or Elna (now headed by Janome), I suggest to contact Tacony Corp. I think you can even ask them on line if they have it. Tacony was the distributor for Elna when these machines were made and both the 4800 line of Pfaffs and Elna's came out of the same factory in Japan. Janome now heads Elna and might not use the same type of converters even though their sergers are very similar. Even if Janome has a different style spreader it might fit your serger but I am unsure. The spreader that I have fits on top of the upper looper and is like a little head with an eye and looks like it has a nose that comes up and shaped like a tea pot's pouring spout lol. Some spreaders are just a little wire. I do hope you find the correct converter for your serger and I don't know if another style would work to disable the upper looper and you surely don't want to damage your machine in anyway by using the wrong part..but hey..maybe another type could work if you cannot find the correct one. My Grandparents on my Dad's side came from Peterborough and Whittlesey and I always wanted to see the area. Kind of a mix here cause Mom's side was from Ireland..with a grt. Grandpa being Lord Mayor of Dublin lol. So glad you found your part and that a kind person mailed you the info. Now you can enjoy your serger to the fullest.
