Date: 7/7/12 10:59 AM A friend makes what she calls Bucket Pickles in the fridge. My they are yummy.
I only make pickled beets. Simple recipe, 1 cup water, 1 cup pickling vinegar and 1 cup sugar boil together and pour over peeled beets in canning jars, I just process them for a few minutes. ------ Proud parent of a Dwight International School Honour Roll Student |

Date: 7/7/12 11:18 AM This is the one I like. It is very good. I got a bunch of cucumbers and dill in my CSA box yesterday, so I'll be making these today:

Date: 7/7/12 4:17 PM Hello there. I would love to share a few pickle recipes with you, but I don't make refrigerator or solar pickles. Mine are found in the Ball Bluebook and instead of using dill in the dill pickles, I use basil.--I don't like dill. ------ "We don't impose our rhythm on Nature. Date: 7/8/12 10:39 PM check out the pickl-it website ( just google of course)
I've made pickles fermented with the airlocs and they are fantastic.
Gave a jar to a friend and she was hoarding them for a special occasion, and demanded the exact recipe.
But, I didn't measure how much of the spices I used, dill seed, mustard seed, peppercorns, garlic cloves and onions and a small hot pepper. opps, I promise I will measure and write down from now on.
you just add cucumbers etc. to the jar, salt water (certain %) clamp down lid with air lock. Fermentation gas can get out, oxgen can't get back in, so mold etc can't grow, just the benifical bacteria can grow that make the acid. ( latic acid, nothing to do with milk)
sit on the counter 72 degrees for a few days, then put in the fridge.
full of probiotics, great for your digestion and immune system, crisp and delicious.
