Date: 7/8/12 9:14 PM Just keep playing with it and watch the tutorial videos. You can do a disappearing nine patch. Just need to cut fabric into same size squares. ------ ~Diana~

Date: 7/8/12 9:30 PM Do you like the choices I made for the fabrics? I loved the blue hexi's and the green meadow with the brown pine cones. I really loved the blue with the pale white circles. It reminds me of your dress fabric. The store owner and I started out with the brown pinwheel fabric I nearly bought yesterday. I was thinking binding fabric for my current project.
I said something about a new project and she started with the browns. My home is very brown, so I only wanted a hint of it and more color, but not flowers this time. We were getting too manly for a while. I wanted something a bit more feminine, so she pulled a touile fabric with blue birds on a white background. It went nicely, but was not me. I chose instead the green meadow with pine cones. I loved the group together. It made me happy just to look at it.
Now I need to work with QDW more and find a project I like and plan. I was going to do a pin wheel one, but decided to do something else instead. What that Something Else is right now, I do not know.
I did not have time today to rip and resew my current project. I have all week to do it and I should be done by then. I hope to have the inner border cut and sewn on as well. Not sure how long it will take me to have the 2nd border cut and sewn. No time limit, so it could take weeks. I am not in a hurry, so I do it when I feel like it. ------ Quilting is relaxing to me. Very complimentary, and I have to agree would look lovely in the Disappearing 9 patch pattern.
But I do so LOVE pinwheels.... ------ Cathryn |

Date: 7/9/12 9:12 AM I love your choices. That blue fabric with the pale white circles is something I would wear. You should try the disappearing nine patch. It is so easy. ------ ~Diana~

Date: 7/9/12 12:18 PM I watched the video of it and then the pin wheels. I decided on the disappearing 9 patch, as it seems easier on my eyes and less chances of messing it up. Still fighting vertigo now and then. Today seems to be "one of those days" so far. I am bouncing against walls. Pin wheels make my eyes hurt today. I'll be glad when this virus leaves me for good.
How many colors for the disappearing 9 patch will be needed? Hubby was surprised I went to the store but did not buy anything. Well, if I do not know what and how much I want, why not look, touch and enjoy the fabric shop and just make a list for my next project, which is what i eneded up doing. ------ Quilting is relaxing to me. I love to play with fabrics, patterns and colors.

Date: 7/9/12 5:13 PM You can use as many as 9 different colors. Each block is nine squares and you put the ones that you like best on the outside corners. You can place a solid color in the middle square for each block you make. That's what I did. It ends up being the smallest part of the block. Mine were 5" squares but you can do any size. ------ ~Diana~
