Date: 7/10/12 0:59 AM I'm really interested in trying to make some yoga pants out of stretch bengaline, but I can't seem to find any! Is it only available in Australia? If so, is there a good online source? ------ A balanced diet is a cupcake in each hand. |

Date: 7/10/12 5:37 AM Stretch bengaline is a stretch woven. Good for pants, but I personally would not make yoga pants from it. You would be better off with a knit for yoga pants. If you want stretch bengaline still I would substitute a good RPL - rayon poly lycra blend = stretch woven.
Others may have different thoughts on this... ------ Sue (Toowoomba Qld)

Date: 7/10/12 7:44 AM I am with Sue also, Bengaline does not have the great stretch for yoga pants in my opinion.. Why not check out Ponte as it a better stretch and very comfortable to wear.. Spotlight has it in a nice weight at the moment..

Date: 7/10/12 8:31 PM I'm with Sue on this. Someone else wanted stretch bengeline for some Style Arc pants and we don't seem to have it here, but I recommended RPL as well. For yoga pants one of the wicking knit fabrics or cotton lycra works well. ------ www.nancyksews.blogspot.com |

Date: 7/11/12 9:31 AM I purchased some stretch bengaline from Joann's about 6 months ago.....was surprised when I saw it and I don't know if they still have it. It was with/close to the suiting fabrics and was labled 'stretch bengaline'. I seem to recall there was only 2 or 3 colors and I got the brown. It is definately a stretch woven and I wanted it for a yoga pants pattern also, BUT, I did NOT plan on wearing for yoga or exercise of any kind. It worked well for what I intended which was a decent pair of pants made from a yoga pants pattern. I actually really like them. |
