Date: 7/12/12 2:41 PM Our baby (6m old) is in washable nappies and I've made him one romper but it really doesn't fit over his nappies. I did measure his front to back neck and it seemed fine, but...
Anyway do I just need to lower the crotch? And the same for trousers?
I am not that bothered about making him trousers to be honest (I get him leggings, and don't bother with woven trousers) but just in case. |

I just made a bunch of these in various sizes in organic cotton fleece for one of my soon-to-be great nephews. The crescent moon shape in the behind is supposed to allow for cloth diapers. The pattern is designed for knits or fleece but you could borrow the concept for a pattern for wovens. Come to think of it, you could use rib knit for the waistband and woven for the body, with the booty cut on the bias. ------ Elizabeth |

Date: 7/12/12 2:55 PM Oops, saw you are making rompers. Try going up a size below the waist. You probably need extra length and width to go over a bulkier diaper than the pattern is designed. ------ Elizabeth |

I do find the waist is very tight when I try woven trousers on him (who ever thought it was a good idea to buy jeans for babies in nappies? I mean, really?), as well as the bottom. So if I decide to make any trousers a rib waist sounds good - I see these in the shops but again, they are too tight, but I could adjust. |
