Date: 7/12/12 5:22 PM I ordered two different knits - one was sold out.
They charged me for both (and that was the charge I saw on my debit card). Bottom of order says I was issued a credit on that card.
I just checked my account on line. No credit.
It seems to me the credit should have been issued when the fabric was being cut and shipped.
Am I jumping the gun? I just tried to call and they're closed because Denver Fabrics is actually in St. Louis (they close at 4!)

Date: 7/12/12 6:04 PM I have this happen at other companies. I never shop Denver Fabrics, and have placed a whopping 2 orders with FFC in the last decade or so.
Many business will charge you right quick for the items, then issue a refund...which can take up to 3 weeks for you to get back. |

Date: 7/12/12 7:35 PM For whatever ridiculous reason, although charges appear instantaneously, with *any* company from which I've received a refund it takes 1-3 weeks to show up. So it's probably not Denver here.
That said, I made my last order to FFC/Denver 2 years ago and will never order from them again. Horrible customer service. ------ http://theslapdashsewist.blogspot.com

Date: 7/12/12 8:32 PM I agree w/ the others. Refunds take twice as long as purchases to show up. If it would make you feel better, go ahead and call to confirm you're to get a refund and when you should expect it. That's just for peace of mind though as you prolly won't see it for a week or more.

Date: 7/12/12 10:42 PM I know people are mixed on Paypal, but refunds are very quick.
I placed an order with Elliot Berman last night before the sale ended, and gave instructions to change a few 2 yard cuts to 1.5 yards. I knew that I'd have to wait for a refund this way, but it's the only way they can process half yards.
My refund showed up this morning. I was floored, I figured I had days or weeks too. ------ Yards sewn 2012: 34

Date: 7/12/12 11:04 PM Paypal holds my refunds for 1-2 weeks, too, so there's no difference except my DH doesn't know about the purchases since I get paid that way. |

Date: 7/12/12 11:37 PM I ordered from them a few years ago. I had them screw up my order. Twice. I forget if I got a refund in the end, but I got 10 yards of free fabric? Hehe, obviously my problem was different, but they DID try to fix it, so I'd call them Not to say they're a great company, but they weren't trying to be weasels to me? |

Date: 7/13/12 0:07 AM Sorry to hear one was sold out, hate when that happens! Denver Fabrics an be slow as molasses, especially to Canada, but they've always eventually made things right if I had any problems. ------ I heart Panzy, Pfaff Creative Performance, the sewing machine love of my life! And Rupert (Pfaff 2023), Baby (BL Enlighten), Victor (BLCS), Ash (Bernina 350SE), Pal (Bernina 530), Kee (Bernina 750) and the Featherteen Flock!
Most of all, I heart Woo (HimmyCat). Until we meet again, my beautiful little boy. I love you. |

Date: 7/13/12 11:39 AM I called them and the CS rep said it's getting applied today.
I know in a store they apply the credit right then. I don't understand why they can't apply the credit when they are processing your order.
It's not the ten bucks; it's the policy that bugs me. It makes me wonder if I hadn't noticed if the credit would have been applied.
On another note, Dell computers drives me nuts for the opposite reason. I buy my laptops from their outlet and the computers are great. But the charge never shows up for weeks! I start to feel conflicted like I should point out the error but I know I'll get a foreign rep and the order will get even more mucked up. I don't want a double charge that's for sure - not for a computer. It eventually shows up but the last time it was seriously more than a month. I want to scream "Dude! You're a computer company for crying out loud!" ------ Mary
